Details
Butterfly Stool was designed by Japanese designer Sori Yanagi in 1954 and produced by Vitra. The stool is made of maple or rosewood with brass fittings. With its gently curved lines, it evokes the image of a butterfly in flight, hence the name Butterfly Stool.
Sori Yanagi combined Oriental design idiom with the same production techniques for molding wood developed by Charles Ray Eames. The Butterfly Stool has become a modern classic.
